Licensing

What is TallyPrime?
TallyPrime is the latest generation of Tally’s flagship accounting software, developed by Tally Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (India). It is used by over 2.5 million businesses in 100+ countries for accounting, inventory, payroll, VAT/GST compliance, and business reports. TallyPrime is a desktop application that works fully offline.
What is the difference between Silver, Gold and Server?
Silver allows 1 user to work on 1 machine at a time. Gold allows unlimited concurrent users on the same local network (LAN) — ideal for offices with multiple accountants. TallyPrime Server provides a dedicated high-performance server engine for large teams and heavy transaction volumes, offering better speed and centralized data management.
Is TallyPrime a one-time purchase or a subscription?
The TallyPrime license itself is a one-time purchase — you buy it once and own it forever. There is no mandatory monthly fee. However, TSS (Tally Software Service) is an optional annual subscription that enables cloud features, remote access, WhatsApp invoice sharing, and software updates. TSS is not required for core accounting functionality.
Can I use TallyPrime on multiple computers?
Silver can be installed on multiple computers but only one machine can run it at a time (per the license terms). Gold allows unlimited concurrent users on the same LAN. If you need remote access from multiple locations, you need either TallyPrime with TSS (for cloud/web-based access) or TallyPrime Server.
How do I transfer my Tally license to a new computer?
TallyPrime licenses can be transferred to a new computer through the Tally license management portal. Our team can handle this for you as part of our support service — just WhatsApp us and we’ll guide you through the process remotely in minutes.

Oman VAT

Does TallyPrime support Oman 5% VAT?
Yes, TallyPrime fully supports Oman’s 5% VAT. It generates VAT-compliant invoices (Tax Invoices and Simplified Tax Invoices), calculates VAT automatically on sales and purchases, and produces VAT return reports in the format required by the Oman Tax Authority. We configure this as part of our setup service.
Can TallyPrime generate QR codes on invoices as required in Oman?
Yes. TallyPrime can generate QR codes on tax invoices. With TSS enabled, WhatsApp invoice sharing with embedded QR codes is also supported. We configure the correct invoice format with your company logo and TRN number as part of the implementation.
Can TallyPrime generate Oman VAT returns?
Yes. TallyPrime has built-in VAT reports that align with Oman’s VAT return format, including output VAT, input VAT, exempt supplies, and net VAT payable. You can export these reports for filing with the OTA portal. Our team configures the tax ledgers correctly so these reports are accurate from day one.

Setup & Implementation

How long does TallyPrime implementation take?
For most small to medium businesses, a standard implementation — installing TallyPrime, configuring Oman VAT, setting up your chart of accounts, ledgers, and opening balances — takes 1 to 3 business days. More complex setups (multi-branch, multi-currency, TDL customization) may take 1 to 2 weeks. We agree on a clear timeline upfront.
Do you provide on-site implementation in Muscat?
Yes. Our engineers provide on-site implementation at your Muscat office. We can also handle implementation remotely via TeamViewer or AnyDesk for clients in other Oman governorates. For out-of-Muscat on-site visits, travel costs may apply.
What information do I need to provide for implementation?
We will need your company name, TRN (Tax Registration Number), address, bank account details, a list of ledger accounts (or your existing trial balance), and your current inventory/stock list if applicable. Most clients share an Excel file. We structure everything in TallyPrime correctly from the start.

Data Migration

Can you migrate data from QuickBooks / Sage / Excel to TallyPrime?
Yes. We migrate data from QuickBooks, Sage, Odoo, Excel spreadsheets, and old Tally ERP versions. We use a structured migration process — export from source, validate, transform, and import into TallyPrime — with a post-migration reconciliation to ensure your opening balances match exactly.
Can I upgrade from old Tally ERP 9 to TallyPrime without losing data?
Yes. Tally ERP 9 data migrates directly to TallyPrime with full transaction history preserved. The migration is built into TallyPrime — your existing company data folder just needs to be opened in the new version, and TallyPrime auto-migrates it. We verify the migration and ensure all reports balance correctly.

Support & AMC

What is included in AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract)?
Our AMC includes: unlimited WhatsApp and phone support during business hours, remote sessions via TeamViewer/AnyDesk, a set number of on-site visits in Muscat per year, assistance with Tally updates, and priority response. We can customise AMC packages based on your team size and support requirements.
How fast do you respond to support issues?
AMC clients get priority — we typically respond on WhatsApp within 1 hour during business hours (Sun–Thu 9am–6pm). Critical issues affecting daily operations are escalated and handled on the same day. Remote sessions can begin within minutes of your WhatsApp message for connectivity-related issues.
Can I get support in Arabic?
Yes. Our team provides support in both Arabic and English. TallyPrime itself also supports Arabic for voucher narrations and reports, though the main interface is in English.

TSS & Cloud Access

What is TSS and do I need it?
TSS (Tally Software Service) is an optional annual subscription that adds cloud connectivity to TallyPrime. With TSS you can: access your Tally data remotely from anywhere, share invoices via WhatsApp, receive Tally software updates, and use the TallyPrime mobile app. Without TSS, TallyPrime still works fully offline for all accounting, inventory and payroll tasks. Most businesses start without TSS and add it when they need remote access.
What happens if my TSS expires?
If TSS expires, TallyPrime continues to work normally for all offline features — you will not lose any data or functionality. You just lose access to cloud/remote features until you renew. We notify you in advance of your TSS renewal date. Renewing TSS is simple — contact us and we process it within the same day.
